All School Reunion
The Association hosts the All School Reunion each year during Daingerfield Days. We will meet at the Morris County Courthouse Annex, on Saturday during the festival from 2:00-4:00. It is a great time to meet with classmates. Everybody is encouraged to join the Association during this event. Hope to see you at the next All School Reunion.
Distinguished Alumni Dinner
The Association has sponsored 8 Distinguished Alumni Dinners. A plaque with the names of all the alumni that have been honored has been placed at Daingerfield High School. Please send your nominations for the Distinguished Alumni using the form in this post. Your nominee must be able to attend the dinner. You may also nominate an alumnus or alumna posthumously. A date of the dinner is the last Saturday in September each year. A nomination form is on this site for nominating next year's recipients.
The Daingerfield Alumni Association is proud to announce the recipients which were honored at the 8th Daingerfield Alumni Distinguished Alumni Dinner. The recipients were Dr. Joe ChiIldress, DHS, 1961; Dr. David Fitts, DHS, 1987; Dr. Lee Guice, DHS, 1966; and posthumously, Dr. Ron Cowan, DHS, 1962.
The Association presents a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior at Daingerfield High School whose parent graduated from Daingerfield Schools. Recent recipients include Jordan Whelchel, 2017; Anjelica Reyes, 2016; Bailey Young, 2015; Ashley Wallace, 2014; Josh Terry, 2013; Cody McEntire, 2012; and Brandi Hegler, 2011.
Daingerfield-Lone Star Education Foundation Grants
The Foundation announces its annual awards for classroom teachers at the end-of-school awards program each year. The grants totaled $16,871.34 for classroom teachers in May, 2017. The grant money will be used to purchase educational materials, technology, and educational experiences for students. The total amount of grants awarded since the Education Foundation was established 9 years ago is nearing $100,000.
The Daingerfield-Lone Star Education Foundation, together with the Daingerfield-Lone Star Alumni Association, raise money for the grant program through the annual Spelling Bee, the Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner and other fund-raising events. Donations to the Foundation may be made at Texas Heritage Bank, 107 Webb St, Daingerfield, TX 75638. Donations are tax deductible.
