RED RIBBON WEEK
October 22 – 26
Monday – Red Ribbon Week Kickoff. Wear Red. Red ribbons, pencils, etc. will be passed out.
Tuesday – Cap Day - Wear a favorite or silly cap or hat to “Put a Cap on Drugs”.
Wednesday – Camo Day – Wear camouflage because “Drugs can’t find me!”
Thursday – College Day – Wear your favorite college T-shirt or jersey to “Team up against drugs”.
Friday – Wear blue, white, and black (Tiger colors). “These paws don’t touch drugs.”
Football – Varsity will host Queen City tonight with the game starting at 7:30. Pre-game tickets will be sold during lunch today in the cafeteria; adults are $5; students are $3.
Black-out Pep Rally – will be this afternoon at 3:00 in the auditorium. Mrs. Gilmore & Mrs. Buckner are selling glow sticks for $1 today between classes and during lunch to use during the pep rally.
Volleyball – V will play against Hughes Springs at home today beginning at 4:30.
Cross Country – will compete in the Region II-3A Championships at Lynn Creek Park on Monday.
Senior/Parent Night – is Friday, November 2nd, at the football game. If you are a senior involved in football, band, cheerleading, or cross country, please go by room 34 and pick up a form. Forms are due back by Friday, October 26th.
Math Tutorials - Mrs. Beasley is offering lunch tutorials on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Bring your lunch and your work.
FCA – will meet Thursday morning at 7:25 in the new gym. All are invited to attend.
Upward Bound – monthly meeting will be at NTCC on Monday, October 29th, at 5:30.
Math Team – practice will be today after school until 5:00 in room 68. The first meet will be tomorrow in Mount Pleasant. You will leave at 7:15 from in front of the gym tomorrow morning.
Science Team – has practice in Coach Alford’s room 28 during lunch on Mondays & Wednesdays. All math team members are encouraged to attend.
Bus Notes – students, you must turn in a note from your parent/guardian before 8th period in order to receive an approved bus note for the same day.
FFA Spaghetti Supper – don’t forget to come by and enjoy some chicken spaghetti before the game today from 5-7 at South Elementary cafeteria. The cost is $8 per plate.
Fall Blood Drive – will be held in the new gym on Monday from 9-1. Anyone can give blood from age 16 with parent’s permission to any age. Sign-up sheets will be in room 11. This is a great service project & it helps others who are in need of blood; it’s sponsored by the National Honor Society.
Yearbook Pictures – for all students will be on Wednesday morning, October 31st.
Progress Reports – three weeks ends today. Grades are due on Monday, October 22nd, by 3:30. Teachers, grades are pulled directly from Gradebook, so make sure yours is up to date! Progress reports will be mailed home next week.
FFA Meeting – is on October 25th. There will be a costume contest, hay ride, hot dogs, smores, & games. You must pay the dues in order to attend.
Cheer meeting – all cheerleaders will have a quick team meeting at 11:45 today in the auditorium.
Daingerfield High School New Student Registration
As a new or prospective student of Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District, we are committed to providing an exceptional education in an environment that will nurture the intellectual, social, and cultural development of each student. Students will be challenged through a wide array of academic and extracurricular opportunities. Our goal is to connect students to real-world experiences which promote real-world success.
Any student who is NEW to Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD or who did not complete the prior school year in a D-LS ISD school is REQUIRED to complete the registration process. NEW students may register at Daingerfield high School from August 7th-August 11th. You may register during regular office hours, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Please be prepared to provide Proof of Residency when you come to complete your registration paperwork.
