DHS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Football – Varsity will play at Ore City tomorrow with a start time of 7:30.

 

Volleyball – Varsity will host Jefferson today beginning at 4:30. Teacher appreciation night is October 15th; pink out/senior night is October 22nd.

 

Cross Country – will compete in the Region II-3A Championships at Jesse Owens Complex in Dallas on Monday, October 28th.

 

PSAT – will be given next week on Wednesday, October 16th. All juniors will take the test at no charge. Freshmen & sophomores can take the test for $17. When you sign up and pay, you will receive a study packet. Freshmen & sophomores can sign up in the Counselor’s Office.

 

FCA – will meet in the library Thursday morning at 7:30AM. Honeybuns & juice will be served.

 

Science Team – practice will be on Wednesday during lunch in Coach Alford’s room 28.

 

Math Team – practice will be Friday after school until 5:00 in room 46.

 

Blood Drive – will be on Monday, October 21st. Signup sheet will be in room 11 beginning today. This is a notable thing to do because each day people’s lives depend on blood transfusions.

 

Upward Bound – monthly meeting will be on Monday, October 28th, at NTCC in the Whatley Center at 5:30.

 

FAFSA Night – will be on Tuesday, October 29th from 5:00-7:00 at the high school. We will also have a FAFSA Day next Wednesday, October 16th, from 9:00-2:00 for our seniors. We encourage all seniors and parents of seniors to attend!

 

Yearbook Pictures – will be taken on Thursday, October 31st, for all grades.

 

School-Wide Assembly – guest speaker Commander Tommy Hill will speak to our students on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 10:00AM. Parents are welcome.

 

1st Nine Weeks – ends today. Grades are due by 3:30 on Monday, October 14th. Teachers, mark your grades as “Ready to Post.”

 

Red Ribbon Week – is Oct. 21st-25th. Dress-up days are:

Monday - wear red to kick off the week

Tuesday – wear camouflage to “wage a war on drugs.”

Wednesday – wear hats to “put a cap on drugs.”

Thursday – wear college jersey/t-shirt to “team up against drugs.”
