JUNIOR HIGH MATH TEAM
At the Spring Hill State Qualifying meet held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, one more member of the DJH math-science team qualified to compete at the state meet. DJH now has 10 students qualified to compete in 20 events at the State Meet. There is 1 more qualifying meet.
The students that have qualified for the state meet: 8th grade: Sanaa Fields—Number Sense and Calculator Haley Lewis—Number Sense and Calculator Jazmin Mendez—Number Sense and Calculator Jaci Simmons--Calculator 7th grade: Kylah Haley—Number Sense and Calculator Corey Miller—Number Sense and Calculator Harley Scholl—Calculator 6th grade: Jair Chavez—Number Sense Taurean Drake—Number Sense, Calculator, General Math, and Science Dante Salazar—Number Sense, Calculator and General Math
Overall the team placed 3rd with Spring Hill 1st and Queen City 2nd. Other schools competing in division II were: Atlanta, Hughes Springs, Ore City, McLeod, and Sabine.
